Alesso Pacha NYC 2/24/12

The notorious New York City club for showcasing the best DJ’s in the EDM world brought DJ and Producer Alesso to the turntables this past Saturday night.  Pacha, has always consisted of a diverse clustered dance floor full of EDM lovers alike anxious to bounce to the up and coming young Swede’s beats.

Alesso offered a blend of perfection in his song selection ranging from his beautiful, good feeling music such as his hit “Calling” with it’s new “Lose My Mind” vocals by One Republic’s vocalist Ryan Tedder and Calvin Harris’ “Feel So Close” to high energy dirty beats like Swedish House Mafia’s colossal track “Antidote” and Nari & Milani’s “Atom.”

He opened his two hour set that went all too fast with his new track “Years” and encored with his triumphant hit “Good Love” with Deborah Cox’s classic “Leave the World Behind” vocals laid over the track.  Alesso had the whole dance floor dancing nonstop and put up a stunning performance supported by Pacha’s heavy bass and entrancing light shows.

Did I mention we got VIP complete with wristbands, "I'm in the 1% tonight"

Oscars Fashion 2012

There was a multitude of beautiful fashions that hit the red carpet at this year's Academy Awards, but who looked the best?

Red Cup picked 3 of the hottest dresses:

1. Cameron Diaz looked stunning in this off-white Gucci strapless gown. It was simple yet elegant with a soft, ruffled asymmetrical skirt and cool sequins.  We love Cameron with short hair, it's flirty and feminine and extremely sexy.

2. Sticking with the same color palate, the always classy Gwyneth Paltrow showed up in this caped Tom Ford number. The simple diamond cuff and ponytail are the perfect accent.

3. Stacy Keibler was spot on with this Marchesa single-strap gold lamé column gown.  Her matching clutch and side-swept golden waves pulled the look together. And her best accessory... the man on her arm, best actor nominee George Clooney.

"Lin-sanity" Ben and Jerry's Flavor causes a fiasco

The recent hype behind Jeremy Lin is causing all sorts of dramatics. The Cambridge Ben and Jerry's Scoop Shop created a flavor deeming the name "Lin-sanity". This lychee flavored ice cream contained controversial chunks of fortune cookies. After B&J's realized the racial offense, they took it out initially claiming that the chunks were getting soggy. Changing their story, they apologized for any racial implications. What's next Ben and Jerry's? Get a little less sensitive Boston.
